    House Solaris is Founded

    Able to finally project an Gate aperture to open one of these transit lanes Ossus sends its first unmanned probe into the Gate network. The probe failed to reach its destination system but was able to send back valuable data that eventually led to the creation of a Gate communication network.

    The first manned gate transit was successful. A day of celebration is declared on Ossus. Construction of a dedicated gate transit capable fleet begins. After long debates it is determined that the gate fleet will consist of 5 corvette class military vessels, 3 scientific and exploration vessels, and a construction platform capable of constructing entire void stations from local materials.

    The military corvettes are completed. Shakedown runs begin. Problems arise and are solved as they appear.

    Debates rage as to what the Ossus’s response and treatment of possible xeno lifeforms will be. Eventually a cautious but optimistic view is adopted. We would talk so softly but carry a big stick as it were.

    Final preparations are made and the decision to launch before the second science and exploration vessel is completed. House Solaris decided to wait the remaining months until 2600 to launch into the gate network. Systems are checked and returned all green.

Society and Culture

    The homeworld of House Solaris, being a hostile desert planet, has attracted mostly a host of those interested in the prospect of terraforming. As such, the society of Ossus has developed around the creation of a new world from the barren wastes; and a unique kind of economy has originated from the pursuit of reorganizing the atmosphere and diversifying the ecosystem of Ossus.

Politics and Government

    The governance of Ossus is organized with the ruling noble serving as head of state and head of government, with a bicameral legislature providing a check on the ruler’s power. The Congress, the lower house, is made up of directly-elected representatives of the people, known as Congresspeople; and the Grand Council, the upper house, is made up of Councillors appointed by the many resident Ossan noble houses and private organizations such as guilds and companies.
